Understanding Our Data Retention Policy

As a Pigax user, you entrust us with sensitive and essential data that supports your daily farm operations—whether it's livestock health records, feeding logs, income/expense data, or staff contact details. We recognize the importance of transparency in how long this data is stored and what happens to it when it's no longer needed.

This documentation outlines Pigax’s Data Retention Policy, helping you understand how long your farm data is stored, under what conditions it is deleted, and how you can control its lifecycle. Our approach is governed by strict legal and regulatory standards, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), to give you full control and peace of mind over your data.

What Data Does Pigax Retain?

Pigax collects and stores various types of information during your use of the platform. This includes:

  • Personal account information such as name, email, and phone number

  • Farm data such as pig records, medication history, feeding schedules, and financial transactions

  • Support communications and activity logs related to your use of the system

According to the Privacy Policy, this data is retained for different durations depending on the category and your account status.

Data Retention During Active Use

As long as your Pigax account remains active, your personal data and farm data are retained in full. This allows you to continuously manage, track, and report on your pig farming activities without any data loss or interruptions. You can access, update, or delete specific entries anytime from your dashboard.

This active retention is governed by your role as the data controller, as defined in the Data Processing Agreement. Pigax, acting as the data processor, stores and processes this data only on your instructions and does not access or use it beyond the scope of providing the service.

What Happens When You Cancel Your Account?

If you decide to cancel your Pigax account, the platform implements a structured and GDPR-compliant deletion policy:

  • Your personal and farm data will be permanently deleted within 15 days of cancellation unless a longer retention is legally required.

  • During this 15-day window, you may contact support to reverse the cancellation or retrieve your data.

This policy is clearly stated in the Privacy Policy, Section IV, and helps balance user autonomy with data protection.

In cases where a subscription is canceled (but the account remains accessible), the Terms of Use state that data will be retained for 30 days after cancellation, after which it will be permanently deleted.

Retention for Communication and Legal Purposes

Certain data, such as email support messages, invoices, or usage logs, may be retained for up to 5 years after account deactivation. This is necessary to fulfill Pigax’s legal and tax obligations, prevent fraud, and resolve any disputes.

These records are stored securely, with access restricted to authorized personnel only, in line with the principles outlined in both the Privacy Policy and Data Processing Agreement.

Your Control Over Data Retention

Pigax gives you direct control over your data lifecycle. You may:

  • Manually delete individual records from your dashboard

  • Request full deletion of your account and all associated data

  • Export your data before cancellation, using built-in tools or by contacting support

You can also exercise your rights under GDPR—including access, rectification, and erasure—by contacting us at: privacy@pigax.com

These user rights and responsibilities are detailed in the Privacy Policy – Section VIII.
