Sometimes a sow may show signs of pregnancy—such as an enlarged belly or extended teats—but still fails to farrow on the expected date. In Pigax, it’s essential to accurately record this event so that your farm records remain accurate and complete.

Step 1. Click “Events" on the menu section

Step 2. Select “Pregnancy Monitor"

Step 3. On the Pregnancy Overview, click on the "Confirm Farrow" button of the pregnant sow

Step 4. On the pop-up question "Were any piglets born alive?" Select "No"

Step 5. Click on the result dropdown and select an option

Step 6. In the Note section, write a short note to explain the reason for the failed pregnancy

Step 7. Click on "Save" to save the result.

Note example: Sow failed to farrow despite showing clear pregnancy signs. Crossing and confirmation were recorded correctly. Possible false pregnancy.
